For businesses, and for anyone with a tip
Get a place listed.

Send the details, then pay
What kind of place it is, what is halal there, and where the meat comes from, if you know. A business then pays $10 for the year on Stripe’s secure page. Paying up front keeps requests serious.
We confirm them
A person calls or visits before anything is listed. If we cannot confirm the place and list it, the $10 is refunded in full.
Your listing goes up
In alphabetical order, with the month it was confirmed. We email you when it is up.
It renews each year
The $10 renews yearly until you cancel. We email a reminder 14 days before each renewal, and you can cancel anytime from the link in that email.
Where the $10 goes. To Ameen Systems, which builds and runs Pueblo Islam. It is a fee for the listing, not a donation, and it buys no ranking and no recommendation: every listing looks the same, in alphabetical order.

Questions
Answered plainly
What does “confirmed” mean?
A person from Pueblo Islam spoke with the business, by phone or in person, about what is halal there and where the meat comes from. The month of that conversation is shown on each listing. It is not an inspection and not a certification.
Is a listing a halal certification?
No. Pueblo Islam is not a certifying body. A listing means the business told us it serves halal food and we confirmed what we reasonably could. Scholars differ on some questions about meat, so ask the business directly when it matters to you.
Why does a listing cost $10?
It covers the time spent confirming places and keeping the page current. It is kept small so that any honest business can afford it, and it is paid up front so that only serious requests come in. If we cannot list a place, the $10 is refunded in full.
Does paying buy a better spot or a recommendation?
No. Every listing is shown the same way, in alphabetical order, and paying never changes what we say about a place. A place we cannot confirm is not listed, whatever it offers to pay.
What if a place stops serving halal food?
Tell us through the form or the contact page. We check, and if it is no longer true, the listing comes down. If we remove a listing before its year is up for any reason other than wrong information from the business, the $10 is refunded.
How do I cancel?
From the link in any reminder or receipt email, or at Stripe’s billing page with the email you paid with. Nothing more is charged, and your listing stays up until the end of the year you paid for.
My business is outside Pueblo. Can it be listed?
Places in and near Pueblo are welcome, such as Pueblo West, Rye, and Cañon City. Colorado Springs and Denver have larger Muslim communities with their own guides.
